About the role We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our growing finance team at our Kingsgrove NSW location. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing our credit control operations and ensuring efficient collection of outstanding invoices. This role will suit someone who is confident managing high-volume receivables, understands the billing cycle in a project-based environment and is comfortable working with progress claims, retentions and customer account reconciliations. Key responsibilities Prepare, issue and follow up customer invoices, progress claims and related billing documentation. Maintain accurate records of contract balances, retentions, variations, claim statuses and customer account activity. Posting and allocating daily cash receipts. Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies, short payments, deductions and outstanding balances. Monitor aged receivables and follow up overdue amounts in a professional and timely manner. Liaise with project managers, contract administrators, and customers to resolve billing queries and support cash collection. Process and track retentions, including release dates and supporting documentation requirements. Assist with month-end accounts receivable reporting, debtor reconciliations and general finance administration. Maintain data accuracy in Acumatica and support continuous improvement of accounts receivable processes. What we're looking for Minimum 2 years of accounts receivable experience, ideally within the construction, contracting, building services, or project-based industry. Demonstrated understanding of progress claims, retentions and construction billing processes. Basic account knowledge (e.g. general ledger, chart of accounts and reconciliations) Experience using Acumatica is highly regarded and preferred for this role. Familiarity with Prime or similar construction/project management systems would be a bonus. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities. Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Intermediate Excel skills and general confidence working with financial systems and reporting tools.
