About Kea Group Kea Group acquires and develops founder-owned niche businesses for the long term. We are a permanent capital company modelled on international serial acquirers with a simple approach: buy great companies at fair prices, retain their management and identity, and hold them permanently — no fund life, no exit deadline. Our acquisition focus is on profitable Malaysian SMEs across niche industrial manufacturing and distribution, specialty food products, and testing, inspection and calibration (TIC). The group is backed by committed family capital and is in the early stages of building its platform. The role You will be working directly with the founder across the full transaction lifecycle. This is a hands-on role in a small firm: you will own workstreams end to end, from first contact with a business owner through to completion, as well as post-acquisition operational excellence. Key responsibilities Deal sourcing Build and maintain a pipeline of acquisition opportunities in our focus sectors through direct outreach to business owners, intermediary relationships (corporate finance boutiques, accounting firms, business brokers) and industry associations Screen teasers and information memoranda against the group's acquisition criteria and prepare initial assessments Join first meetings with founders and their advisers Evaluation and due diligence Build financial models covering valuation, returns and sensitivity analysis Lead commercial, financial and operational due diligence, coordinating external advisers across audit, tax and legal workstreams Conduct site visits and management interviews; prepare investment memoranda with clear recommendations Structuring and execution Support negotiation of heads of terms and sale and purchase agreements Work with lawyers, tax advisers and bankers on transaction structuring and acquisition financing Manage transactions through to completion, including conditions precedent and closing mechanics Post-acquisition Develop first 100-day plans with the management teams of acquired companies Establish monthly reporting and KPI frameworks across the group Identify and support operational improvement initiatives alongside subsidiary managing directors What we are looking for 5 - 15 years of experience in M&A, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory or investment banking, with exposure to Malaysian mid-market transactions Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills; comfortable working directly from management accounts and audited financial statements Hands-on operational or portfolio-company experience is an advantage, though not a requirement The judgement and interpersonal skills to earn the trust of founder-owners, many of whom are selling a life's work Comfort with a small, early-stage firm: high autonomy and broad scope What we offer Direct involvement in every stage of every transaction, working alongside the founder The opportunity to help build a permanent-capital investment group from its early stages Competitive remuneration with a performance/equity-linked component Website: www.keagroup.my
