As our global sourcing network continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Senior Sourcing Manager to identify and develop strategic manufacturing partnerships, drive supplier diversification, negotiate competitive costs, and support product development initiatives throughout Asia. This is a highly visible role that works closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams in the United States while serving as a key business partner to our global supplier network. Position Overview The Senior Sourcing Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing world-class manufacturing partners to support The Workhorse Group's sourcing strategy. This position plays a critical role in supplier development, product commercialization, cost management, supply chain diversification, and long-term business growth. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working directly with factories throughout Asia, possesses strong negotiation skills, and is comfortable building long-term supplier relationships while managing multiple sourcing initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Factory Identification & Supplier Development Proactively identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop new manufacturing partners throughout Asia, with emphasis on China, Hong Kong, India, and other strategic sourcing regions. Conduct supplier research, capability assessments, and factory evaluations. Build and maintain long-term relationships with manufacturing partners. Support supplier diversification initiatives to reduce supply chain risk and strengthen manufacturing capabilities. Strategic Sourcing Receive product specifications, technical requirements, and RFQs from the U.S.-based Product Development team. Identify the most qualified manufacturers for each product category. Manage supplier communications throughout the sourcing process. Recommend suppliers based on quality, capabilities, pricing, production capacity, and delivery performance. Cost Analysis & Negotiation Analyze supplier quotations, manufacturing costs, and pricing structures. Lead commercial negotiations to achieve competitive pricing while maintaining quality, compliance, and delivery expectations. Evaluate opportunities for cost savings and continuous improvement. Develop strong supplier partnerships that create long-term value for both organizations. Product Development Collaborate closely with suppliers and internal product development teams throughout the product lifecycle. Support new product development from concept through production. Ensure products meet customer requirements, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and delivery timelines. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 7 years of progressive sourcing, purchasing, vendor management, or supply chain experience. Demonstrated experience working directly with overseas manufacturers, preferably throughout Asia. Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic sourcing skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Strong business judgment with the ability to make independent decisions. Preferred Qualifications Experience sourcing consumer products, seasonal merchandise, gift products, home décor, packaging, or general merchandise. Existing network of factory relationships throughout China and other Asian manufacturing regions. Experience conducting factory visits, supplier evaluations, and capability assessments. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product development, production planning, and quality systems. Experience with supplier diversification strategies. Familiarity with ERP and PLM systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting. Language Requirements Professional proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Mandarin Chinese proficiency is strongly preferred. Cantonese language skills are a plus.
