Ready for more autonomy, better projects and a genuine senior role? Matrix Security Group is looking for an experienced Senior Security Technician to join our growing Technology Solutions team. This is a hands-on senior position working across a variety of commercial security projects throughout Auckland. You'll take ownership of installations and commissioning, tackle challenging technical issues, support developing technicians and have the autonomy to get on with the job. Most of our work is Auckland-based, with minimal out-of-town travel. What’s in it for you? Your responsibilities will include: Leading the installation and commissioning of access control, IP video surveillance and intercom systems Servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting electronic security systems Diagnosing and resolving more complex technical and network-related faults Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior technicians Working directly with clients and building strong professional relationships Identifying opportunities to improve or upgrade client security systems Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard Participating in an on-call roster approximately once every 4–5 weeks About you We're looking for someone who's already confident in the electronic security industry and is ready for greater responsibility, autonomy and technical leadership. Ideally, you'll bring: Around five years' experience in the electronic security industry Strong commercial installation, commissioning and service experience Good knowledge of IP-based security systems and networking fundamentals Experience with platforms such as Gallagher, Integriti, Protégé, Inception or similar Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills The ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs A professional approach when dealing with customers The confidence to support and mentor less-experienced technicians You'll also need: A Full NZ Driver Licence A current Security Certificate of Approval (COA), or the ability to obtain one The legal right to work in New Zealand Don't tick every box?
