Our mission: Enable fast, reliable, and scientifically sound experimentation for all product teams. Develop robust causal inference and statistical methodologies to measure the impact. Ensure the integrity, scalability, and performance of the core experimentation platform. Get to Know the Role You'll help shape the future of experimentation at Grab. Your primary objective will be to optimize and develop novel A/B testing methodologies, ensure metric reliability, and advance the platform's capabilities for complex experimental designs. This includes developing solutions for issues like platform contamination, sample ratio mismatch, and network effects, all within a large-scale, distributed infrastructure environment. You will work onsite from our Petaling Jaya office. The Critical Tasks You Will Perform You will design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using modern programming languages and frameworks, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices You will build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices that handle high traffic loads while maintaining low latency and reliability You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions and deliver features You will perform schema design, data modeling, and query optimization across relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL/caching solutions (MongoDB, Redis) You will implement automated testing strategies, including unit and integration tests, to ensure code reliability and reduce technical debt You will set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) for seamless deployments You will establish comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing systems to identify bottlenecks, maintain security standards, and resolve production issues You will participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement You will document technical designs, architecture decisions, and system workflows to ensure knowledge sharing and organizational clarity You will stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing ideas to enhance our platform and development processes What Essential Skills You will Need You have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating technical competency You have at least minimum 2 years of professional software development experience with proficiency in at least one backend programming language (Go, Scala, Java, or C++) You have foundation in frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for building user-facing features You have experience with microservices architecture, distributed systems, and RESTful API design principles You have hands-on experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL/caching technologies (MongoDB, Redis) You have experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) You have knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their primary services You have knowledge of security best practices and secure coding principles You have experience working in Agile/Scrum environments You have exposure to system design and performance optimization techniques You have contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio demonstrating technical expertise Life at Grab We care about your well-being at Grab, here are some of the global benefits we offer: We have your back with Term Life Insurance and comprehensive Medical Insurance. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
