We're looking for a Trainee Traffic Signals Installer to join our team in St Albans. You don't need to be an experienced Traffic Signals Installer. If you have some electrical, engineering or practical experience – or you're simply keen to learn and build a career – we'd love to hear from you. You'll work alongside experienced members of our team, learning how to install, maintain and commission traffic signals, pedestrian crossings and intelligent transport equipment. No two days will be the same – you'll be working outdoors, visiting different sites and gaining hands-on experience in the world of intelligent transport. All weathers and roadside working will be part of the role. What you'll be doing Supporting the installation and commissioning of traffic signals and associated equipment. Learning how to test, maintain and fault-find electrical equipment. Working safely on customer sites and following site procedures. Working alongside experienced engineers and installers to develop your skills. Completing relevant training and industry qualifications as you progress. Building your experience with technology that helps keep people and communities moving safely. What we're looking for You don't need to have traffic signals experience. We're looking for someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn. You'll ideally have: Some electrical, engineering, construction, lighting or other practical experience. An electrical qualification, college course or similar would be beneficial. A practical approach and an interest in how things work. Good problem-solving and communication skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. A full Manual UK driving licence A willingness to work outdoors and travel to customer sites and work on roadsides.
