At Freshworks, we're introducing AI across our GTM organization to accelerate how we understand buyers, connect revenue signals, and enable our teams to take action. We're looking for a hands-on AI/GTM engineer to build the agents, workflows, and intelligence systems powering the next generation of our GTM organization. Our buyer signals currently live across Salesforce, Marketo, Outreach, product usage data, intent platforms, and internal systems. You'll build the technical infrastructure that connects those signals, adds context and intelligence, and turns them into actions for our frontline teams. This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, automation, and revenue technology. You'll have executive sponsorship, high-impact problems to solve, and significant ownership over how AI is applied across the Freshworks GTM organization. What You'll Do Build AI-powered GTM systems: Design and deploy agents and intelligent workflows across account research, lead management, routing, scoring, prioritization, seller briefings, and follow-up Turn buyer signals into action: Engineer contextual data pipelines that bring together web activity, intent, product usage, CRM history, engagement, and other signals Build the agent and integration layer: Connect LLMs with Salesforce, Marketo, Clay, sales engagement platforms, enrichment providers, internal data sources, and other GTM systems using APIs, webhooks, and orchestration Develop AI applications: Build with patterns such as function/tool calling, structured outputs, MCP, agent orchestration, retrieval, and deterministic business logic Move prototypes to production: Harden successful concepts with authentication, logging, tracing, retries, error handling, monitoring, documentation, and cost controls Measure and improve quality: Build evaluations and feedback loops to understand agent performance, identify failure modes, and continuously improve reliability Partner with GTM teams: Work closely with RevOps, SalesOps, Marketing Ops, SDR/BDR, Demand Gen, and Core Engineering to translate revenue problems into scalable technical solutions What We're Looking For Experience as a Software Engineer, AI Engineer, Automation Engineer, GTM Engineer, Revenue Systems Engineer, or similar technical role Strong hands-on programming experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages Experience building AI/LLM-powered applications, agents, or workflows using Claude, OpenAI, LangGraph, MCP, Relevance, or similar technologies Strong experience with APIs, webhooks, authentication, system integrations, data pipelines, and orchestration Experience building systems with production considerations such as evals, observability, tracing, retires, validation, and error handling Familiarity with GTM platforms such as Salesforce, Marketo, Clay, Outreach, Salesloft, HubSpot, or similar Understanding of B2B revenue workflows such as lead management, prospecting, routing, enrichment, qualification, account prioritization, or seller productivity Nice to Have Experience building technology directly for Sales, Marketing, RevOps, Growth, or other frontline GTM teams Experience working with data warehouse, SQL, enrichment data, or event-based customer data Experience structuring unstructured data from transcripts, emails, notes, forms, and intent signals Experience building internal-facing tools that have reached production and meaningful user adoption You don't need to have spent your entire career in GTM. You do need to be a strong technical builder who can apply modern AI engineering to real revenue problems. Please note this is a hybrid role with onsite expectations of 3x/week (Tues - Thurs) from our San Mateo, CA headquarters. The annual base salary range for this position is $202,000 - $250,000. This role is also eligible for a target bonus. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to location, experience, job-related skills, and level. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
