Join Sigma Software as a Principal Software Engineer and help shape secure, large-scale digital platforms for Public Sector initiatives. This is a strategic senior-level role for an experienced engineering leader who can combine hands-on development, architecture expertise, technical leadership, and customer-facing communication. You will work with enterprise-grade Java-based solutions, participate in presales and discovery activities, define technical strategies, and guide teams through project launch and early delivery stages. The projects focus on building and modernizing enterprise digital services that support mission-critical operations, complex integrations, and long-term maintainability for large-scale organizations. PROJECT You will join early-stage initiatives where technical leadership plays a key role in transforming business ideas into scalable implementation strategies. The position involves participation in presales activities, tenders, discovery workshops, architecture design, estimation, and project launch support. The projects include enterprise Java ecosystems, cloud-native infrastructure, distributed systems, secure integrations, and modernization of legacy platforms. You will work closely with Customers, Sales, Delivery, and engineering teams to establish architecture standards and ensure successful project initiation. Participate in presales activities, discovery sessions, technical workshops, tenders, and RFI/RFP analysis. Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and implementation strategies. Design enterprise-level architectures for Java-based distributed systems and microservices platforms. Prepare technical proposals, estimations, architecture diagrams, delivery assumptions, and implementation roadmaps. Define technology stack, infrastructure approach, integrations, security principles, and team composition. Present and defend technical solutions during Customer discussions and stakeholder meetings. Support Sales and Delivery teams during presales and project initiation phases. Lead technical project start-up activities and transform high-level concepts into actionable implementation plans. Establish architecture standards, engineering guidelines, and development best practices. Guide engineering teams during the first delivery stages and support onboarding and technical interviews. Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure scalability, maintainability, and security compliance. Resolve complex technical challenges and mentor Senior and Lead Engineers. Drive technical decision-making while balancing business goals, delivery timelines, and quality expectations. 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong technical leadership responsibilities. Strong hands-on expertise in Java ecosystem development. Deep knowledge of Spring and Spring Boot. Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems architecture. Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and event-driven systems. Practical experience with Kafka or similar messaging technologies. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases. Strong cloud platform experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation. Understanding of application security, monitoring, logging, and observability practices. Experience working with incomplete or ambiguous requirements and converting them into technical solutions. Experience participating in presales, discovery phases, solution proposals, or tender processes. Strong estimation and solution design skills. Excellent Customer-facing communication and presentation skills. Ability to independently drive technical initiatives and take ownership. Upper - Intermediate English level.
