We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Sales Representative to help grow Etihad Airways’ presence and performance in the Chengdu market. This is a hands-on sales role where you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of customers, build strong relationships across the travel trade and corporate market, and identify new opportunities to grow revenue and market share. What you’ll be doing Develop and execute sales plans across your assigned accounts to achieve revenue and commercial targets. Manage and grow relationships with existing customers while proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities. Build strong relationships with travel agencies, corporate customers and other key commercial partners to strengthen Etihad’s position in the market. Analyse customer potential, market trends and competitor activity to identify where the strongest revenue opportunities exist. Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities and take ownership for progressing them from initial engagement through to conversion. Use available data, commercial insights and sales tools to prioritise activity and improve account performance. Negotiate effectively with customers and partners to deliver mutually beneficial commercial outcomes. Work closely with internal stakeholders and Etihad partners to develop customer solutions, support commercial initiatives and unlock new opportunities. Support the introduction and promotion of Etihad products and services relevant to your customers and market. What we’re looking for Above all, we’re looking for a sales professional with the energy, commercial mindset and determination to deliver results. You’ll ideally bring: At least three years of relevant experience in sales, account management or business development. A demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales, revenue or commercial targets. Airline sales experience is strongly preferred; however, we’re also interested in candidates from the broader travel industry or high-performing B2B sales environments. Strong account management and business development capability, with the ability to identify, develop and convert new opportunities. Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills. Commercial and analytical capability, with the confidence to use data and market insights to make effective sales decisions. The ability to work effectively across multiple internal and external stakeholders. A proactive, energetic and resilient approach, with the motivation to succeed in a target-driven environment. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience. Mandarin/Chinese language capability and a strong understanding of the local travel and commercial market are highly desirable. WorkMundi's database shows 74,689 open sales positions globally. India leads with 17,483 jobs, followed by the US with 13,876. If you're open to geography, you have real options — but the sheer number means you need a filter. Don't apply to everything. Pick a country, a company size, and a sales model that matches what you actually want to do.
Almost 8 in 10 of these ads have their text written in English. That's useful for reading the job description and understanding what you're signing up for. But it tells you nothing about whether the role requires you to speak English with customers, partners, or your team. Ask the hiring manager directly during your first conversation.
The employers posting the most are boxlunch, SIMPLE RECRUIT, FlexBoard, and tmobile. If you see their name on a listing, you know they're actively hiring. That can work in your favor — high-volume recruiters often move faster. But volume also means competition. Your application needs to stand out.
Sales interviews almost always include a version of this: 'Tell me about a time you lost a deal. What did you learn?' Prepare a real story where you take ownership of what went wrong and what you'd do differently. Hiring managers want to see you learn, not just win.
