SOCOTEC has an opening for a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer in Tucson, Arizona . Responsibilities: Assist with marketing and business development. Prepare geotechnical proposals, including scope of services and proposed fees. Assist in the compilation of RFQ/RFP documentation. Respond to technical questions for solicitations during pre-bidding and bidding phases of projects. Prepare and manage/oversee geotechnical projects. Prepare geotechnical evaluation reports. Attend project meetings with project stakeholders as needed. Maintain client relationships. Work directly with clients to assure successful project completion. Mentor junior staff. Provide leadership. Provide ongoing training to engineering staff. Provide direction and review engineering work products prepared by others. Keep up to date with the latest geotechnical survey, measurement, and analysis techniques, instrumentation, industry standards, and guidelines. Review and sign geotechnical proposals and reports on behalf of the company. Education PE license required. B.S. in Civil Engineering required; M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis preferred. Required Skills Licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona. 10+ years of experience in the geotechnical industry performing the duties described above. Well-rounded background in geotechnical engineering. Strong work ethic. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Track record of successful client relationships and service. Thorough understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering. Experience with construction and earthwork activities. Geophysical survey experience is an additional asset. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work and meet deadlines under time pressure. Positive attitude. Excellent problem-solving skills.
