The Recreation Instructor reports to the Recreation Coordinator . The primary job duties of this position include: Curriculum planning, implementing programs and/or classes, classroom management by adapting to participant's needs and behaviors, instruction of specialized courses or skills. Record keeping by maintaining attendance sheets, participant contact information and liability waivers, maintaining confidentiality and using discretion when speaking with parents Make recommendations as to enhance and optimize class participation. In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements: Current national fitness certifications are required One year of formal fitness teaching experience Be able to develop and implement age appropriate fitness classes Skilled and passionate about teaching in a structured, fun recreation environment Minimum of an 8-12 week teaching commitment. This can be on ongoing position depending upon availability and facility needs. Current CPR and First Aid certification are preferred, but not required Age requirement: Must be 18+ years This position requires a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and fingerprinting required. This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.
