As a Senior Civil Engineer (Hydraulic), you will perform the following duties: Permit Development: Prepare and complete complex environmental and mining permits for reclamation projects Technical Design Work: Carry out hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, watershed studies, stream layouts, and related engineering analyses Project Coordination: Collaborate with project designers, construction staff, and public agencies to ensure designs meet requirements and safety needs Field Evaluation: Visit project sites to collect data, assess conditions, and determine environmental impacts Design Oversight: Review, refine, and finalize engineering plans, estimates, and specifications for submission Consultant Management: Guide consultant-led projects by assisting with bid documents, offering technical input, and monitoring permitting issues Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $77,164.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
