Join the Southwestern Veterans Center as a Registered Nurse with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. This position provides nursing care and leadership to support the health and comfort of residents in a long term care setting. You will guide daily care, support communication, and ensure that nursing practices meet professional standards. As a Registered Nurse, you will perform the following duties: Resident Care: Provide nursing treatment, monitor conditions, and update care plans based on resident needs Medication Oversight: Dispense medications, review records, and check that assigned personnel follow proper procedures Team Leadership: Guide staff, assign tasks, and address concerns to maintain safe and effective care Communication Duties: Share important changes with supervisors, physicians, and families as needed Safety Practices: Follow all safety rules, report hazards, and use required protective equipment Documentation Tasks: Maintain accurate records, complete assessments, and support audits and reviews Interested in learning more? Work Hours and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 8-hours/day-40-hours/week Positions are available on the following shifts: 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) with a 30 minute lunch 3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM) with a 30 minute lunch Working every other weekend is required. We offer a competitive salary and state benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance coverage; excellent vacation, sick, and holiday leave package; and retirement plan. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $ 93,888 .00 (before taxes). DMVA is pleased to announce the launch of a Nursing Referral Program, promoting the hiring and retention of nursing staff at Pennsylvania’s veterans homes.
