Rayburn Correctional Center is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Social Worker 5-B. This position plays a vital role in ensuring effective Mental Health operations within a correctional environment, providing individual and group therapy in compliance with treatment plans, and assist the inmates with learning the necessary skills and psychological factors related to re-entry into society. Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) plus: A master's degree in social work followed by four years of social services experience. Job Duties: Employee will maintain appropriate documentation in inmates’ medical records, charting and reviewing treatment provided, progress of each case, any recommendations made, and utilizing consultation as needed. Assesses inmates to determine the potential for self-mutilation or injury, and/or suicide; orders appropriate management instructions utilizing Suicide Watches or Mental health observations when appropriate and monitors progress of those inmates while providing individual counseling. Interviews inmates in order to develop a thorough bio-psycho-social assessment; in which problems or needs are identified, adjustment difficulties are addressed, and strengths and deficits will be identified and addressed. Position-Specific Details : Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted. An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted. Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $26.95 per hour. This position also offers premium pay: A rate between $2.00 and $5.00 an hour for each regular hour worked, based on years of service with DOC, in addition to regular pay.
