The University of Central Missouri’s graduate certificate in Teaching Writing is a joint program with the Greater Kansas City Writing Project. Graduate students gain the knowledge, skills and support they need to become more effective, confident teachers of writing in all subject areas and grade levels. Greater KC Writing Project Support (Approximately 20 hours) - 65% Working closely with the Director of the Greater Kansas City Writing Project on program promotions and website updates Assist with course registrations for the Writing Project’s Summer Institute Fiscal and Operations Support - Working closely with the Manager of Business and Fiscal Operations for OES, assist with GKCWP stipends, invoices, supplies, etc. Other duties as assigned Outreach (Approximately 10 hours) - 35% Working closely with the Director of Extended Studies to assist outreach efforts and coordination of off-campus and entrepreneurial programming. Assist with course creation and enrollment - for credit, noncredit, and micro credentials Assist with website updates Assist with Slate development for noncredit, adult learners, and special credit students Education Some college hours required Associate or Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience Minimum of two years work experience (Preferably in higher education) One year of customer service experience Preferred candidates with experience in systems such as Banner, Slate Tis is a temporary employment position. Temporary employees are employees who are hired to work at the university for a specified period of time, typically 90 days or less but no longer than six months. Temporary employees are not eligible for benefits. Temporary employees will report hours worked on a timesheet in UKG. Temporary employees can not work more than 30 hours per week.
