About the position This position will support the Substance Use Disorder Program by providing direct assistance to individuals seeking resources, delivering educational presentations, and facilitating prevention classes in schools and community organizations. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, and a commitment to promoting community health and wellness. Compensation Salary Range 13 Steps 1-6 $21.09 - $24.44/hr. Paid Time Off (PTO): 11 Paid Holidays. End of Year PTO Buyback (optional). Working conditions would include but not limited to: Work environment is mostly within the community with occasional office setting. Required interactions with the public and some public presentations. Possible exposure to contaminate or infectious materials and samples encountered in a health service area. Possible outside exposures when participating in outreach community events. This position requires occasional outreach to other community partners and agencies. Developing curriculum and materials tailored to different age groups and demographics. Leading presentations in schools, community centers, and public forums. Collaborating with local organizations and stakeholders to expand outreach. Evaluating program effectiveness through surveys and data collection. Travel will be mostly in Mohave County but may be required to another part of the state as needed. Travel will be mostly within Mohave County with travel to additional outlying county locations as needed, including Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City, Northern Arizona Strip, and other areas including attending required trainings or meetings, while operating a Mohave County provided vehicle. The ability to work outdoors performing moderate labor in varying weather conditions, including strong winds, extreme heat to extreme cold temperatures. This position may also include the occasional moderate lifting of 25 - 50lbs. This position requires an equal amount of time spent standing, walking, running, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and bending. Develops and coordinates County health education programs including prevention and education services, counseling, and training. Coordinates and presents a variety of workshops designed to educate the public on health, exercise, sports science, tobacco use prevention and other issues as may be defined by the grant program and the prevention of illness, disease, and injury.
