This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies on land and in water.- Recognizes and respond effectively in emergencies. - Enforces all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations. - Inspects the facility on a daily schedule and reports any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor. - Completes records and reports. - Participates in regular in-service training sessions. - Exercises regularly to maintain fitness level (strength and endurance). - Works as a team member with other employees. - Completes additional duties as assigned by supervisor.Current certification in the following: - American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid - American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Must have: - Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques - An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures - Leadership and public relations skills - Decision-making skillsResponsible to Management Staff For Whitewater Junction Lifeguard: This is seasonal, hourly work related to the Whitewater Junction facility. The pool is open from Memorial Day weekend (May) through Labor Day Weekend (September). Training hours before may be required.
