Carver County is looking for a dynamic candidate to fill one of our Engineering roles at our Public Works facility in Cologne. The specific classification and pay range will be dependent upon the candidate's qualifications. Civil Engineer - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination administered by NCEES or the ability to obtain within 6 months; valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility; various MnDOT or U of M certifications (entire list included in above link) within 24 months of hire. Senior Civil Engineer - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination administered by NCEES or the ability to obtain within 6 months; 3 years of related and progressive work experience; valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility; various MnDOT or U of M certifications (entire list included in above link) within 24 months of hire. Design Engineer - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation or related field; 5 years of related and progressive work experience; licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of MN or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire; valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility; various MnDOT or U of M certifications (entire list included in above link) within 24 months of hire. All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, background investigation, and pre-placement physical.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
