Candidates who do not participate and successfully pass all parts of the examination process will not be considered for the position. POSITION DETAILS AND DUTIES : FULL-TIME POSITION: EIGHT (8) HOURS PER DAY; TWELVE (12) MONTHS PER YEAR. BASIC FUNCTION : The job of HVAC Mechanic is done for the purpose/s of providing HVAC services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site. This job reports to Designated Administrator. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Graduation from high school OR General Education Development (GED) equivalent. Two (2) years of experience in a job-related field. Any other combination of education, training, and experience, which demonstrates that the applicant is likely to possess the required skills, knowledge, or abilities, may be considered. ELIGIBILITY LIST EXPIRATION : Candidates who are successful in all of the screening and testing process will be placed on an eligibility list. Typically, an eligibility list for a classification expires after one (1) year. Candidates on the expired eligibility list are no longer considered for positions within the class. Eligibility lists may be extended beyond one (1) year or expire sooner than one (1) year. If an eligible candidate successfully tests for the same classification before the current eligibility list expires, the eligibility lists will merge and the eligible's most recent examination score will be applied. It is the responsibility of each eligible to know his/her eligibility list status.
