Under the general supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing and Communications Specialist is an engaged contributor to the Marketing & Communications team and the Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Division. Responsible for designing high-impact College materials representative of the College’s brand and visual identity; coordinating the College's website, intranet, social media, and digital signage; producing photos and videography; and assisting with writing content and media relations efforts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design high-impact College materials that adhere to Aiken Technical College’s visual identity guidelines and with the target audience(s) in mind. Responsible for coordinating the Aiken Technical College website and intranet and ensuring content is accurate, updated, and compliant with accessibility guidelines. Responsible for coordinating the College’s social media and digital platforms and overseeing content shared on all platforms. Assist with the College’s enrollment management communication system(s). Assist with internal and external communications efforts, including writing content for the College’s print publications, digital materials and platforms, press releases, and advertising. Assist with media relations and outreach efforts. Plan and produce photography and videography to support marketing, communications, and enrollment initiatives and efforts. Coordinate logistics for procurement in accordance with relevant policies and procedures. Cultivate and maintain a positive working relationship with Enrollment Management and Student Affairs colleagues, as well as faculty and staff across campus. Participate in College committees and professional development activities as directed. Assist the Director of Marketing and Communications with other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the department, division, and the College. A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Three (3) years of professional experience in the marketing, public relations, journalism, or communications field preferred. Experience using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro, preferred. Experience shooting and editing photographs and videos preferred. Experience working with print vendors preferred. Experience in social media management and website content management systems is preferred. Experience writing in Associated Press Style preferred.
