This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Tri-County County Community Mental Health Center, 1035 Cheraw Street, Bennettsville, SC 29512. As the Mental Health Professional II - Highway to Hope you will be under general supervision, serve as the Mental Health Professional (MHP) Chief of Highway to Hope (H2H) team. Provide oversight and direct supervision of MHP's and the Peer Support Specialist of the H2H team. Evaluate and monitor staff performance and quality of work to ensure policy and program standards are met and goals are achieved. Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II - Highway to Hope Provide direct clinical supervision of staff to include group and individual staff meetings/trainings and observation of staff in clinical settings to improve quality of services provided to adults and children being served by Highway to Hope in the community. Complete performance review (EPMS) documents and all required paperwork within SCBHDD-OMH standards and policies to ensure performance management of staff. Attend and participate in supervisory meetings and training on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate information is provided to staff. Act in a culturally competent manner. Comply with the SCBHDD-OMH Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements in performing their job duties. Provide culturally competent counseling services to patients. Ensure all patient contacts are documented in accordance with SCBHDD-OMH Quality Assurance (QA) standards. Adhere to Corporate Compliance policies and procedures. Utilize and ensure staff supervised utilize collaborative documentation to facilitate effective and efficient provision of therapeutic services. Participate in treatment team meetings to assist in the formulation and development of treatment plans and programs while monitoring plans and programs to see that desired results are achieved. For MHP Student Loan Repayment: This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position. Minimum Requirements A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and one (1) year post-master's experience in a clinical setting. A valid driver's license. Licensure eligible in specific field of study. Additional Requirements Routine local travel between three counties served (Chesterfield, Dillon and Marlboro). Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, Lifting requirement of 20 lbs. This position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. Knowledge of normal and abnormal behavior adjustment techniques. Knowledge of casework practices and interviewing techniques. Knowledge of legal principles and practices. Knowledge of investigative techniques, principles and practices. Knowledge of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and educational services. Knowledge of services available from the community and other public and private programs. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws or regulations pertaining to social service programs. Ability to organize and maintain a caseload. Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying established objectives. Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment interventions. Ability to conduct detailed investigations, draw conclusions and recommend required action.
