Lifeguard

The lifeguard will create a safe, positive and welcoming environment while providing quality services for participants of all ages. Responsibilities include lifeguarding for pool parties, specialty swims and swim lessons.Year-round program with sessions beginning in September, January and March. Flexible shifts and schedule: Weekday morning, afternoon and evening hours. Work one day a week or multiple days. Location: Wayzata East Middle School Pool Training: Mandatory staff training is held monthly. Pre-season training is provided prior to program start dates. Supervise pool activities and participants to ensure a safe, positive and enjoyable experience. Maintain continuous and effective surveillance of the pool and surrounding areas to identify and respond to potential safety concerns. Enforce pool rules, safety policies and procedures consistently and appropriately. Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, injuries and other incidents in accordance with established procedures and lifeguard training. Provide assistance and support to participants of all ages while promoting an inclusive and welcoming environment. Work collaboratively with other lifeguards and aquatic staff to maintain a safe, clean and well-organized pool environment. Follow all staff policies, procedures and aquatic safety standards. Must be 16 years old by program start date. Current Lifeguard certification, or ability to obtain. Must demonstrate strong communication skills. Must demonstrate dependability. Must demonstrate a friendly and personable demeanor. Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Need certification?
