ABOUT THE JOB Performs sub professional, complex technical field and office work in analysis, design, construction and operation of public works projects Work involves being a lead worker directing the activities of lower level technicians and part-time, seasonal or temporary employees and providing technical advice and instruction. May perform any task of lower level classes in this job series in the same or other specialty area. Distinguished from Engineer-Survey Technician II by broader responsibilities, more difficult assignments, and lead work over other employees. WORK SCHEDULE Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associates degree in engineering or surveying technology and four (4) years engineering or surveying experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS *Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license and automobile insurance. *Possession of an Engineer in Training or Land Surveyor in Training certification is preferred. In recent decades, the valley has also become a major wine producer, with Polk County being one of the best in the area. The valley is often known as the “Oregon Wine Country.” Polk County has over 25 wineries alone. Polk County also houses the beautiful liberal arts college, Western Oregon University (WOU), and is only 30 miles from Oregon State University.
