Traffic Signal Technician-CDL

Minimum Starting Salary: $26.0000 per hour The City of Waco Seeks: The City of Waco is seeking a skilled and motived Traffic Signal Technician to join our team and contribute to the maintenance, installation, and repair of traffic signal systems. Minimum Qualifications; Required: HS Diploma or GED equivalent One year of general electrical work experience. Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License within 180 days. Traffic Signal Technician certification from a nationally recognized and accredited agency or association within 2 years. Position Description: Under basic supervision, installs and maintains traffic control signals on City streets. Essential Functions: Installs, repairs, and replaces traffic signals according to assigned work orders; tests and cleans systems and components; and replaces wiring, fuses, bulbs, and other parts. Operates a commercial vehicle to inspect and maintain traffic signal hardware and electric and electronic controllers; checks schematics and diagrams and performs preventive maintenance. May be required to be on-call, respond afterhours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency. Performs other related duties as assigned. Supports the relationship between the City of Waco and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with residents, visitors, and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information.
