Sports Complex Field Maintenance - Evenings

The City of Ankeny is looking for individuals who are interested in helping maintain the 124-acre sports complex fields and grounds. Athletic Field Maintenance (Seasonal) - $18.00/hour; No benefits. Hours: 2:00 - 10:30 PM, Monday - Friday Required to work every 3rd weekend Position begins in ASAP and ends November 30, 2026. Pre-employment drug screen and background check required. Applications will be accepted until filled . Duties include: Setting up fields for tournaments, working softball and baseball tournaments. Event clean-up, changing garbage cans, and cleaning bathrooms. Field maintenance. Painting and chalking fields. Must possess and maintain a valid Iowa drivers' license. Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in field environment. Periodically requires weekend, holiday and evening hours. Performs outside work in all kinds of weather conditions. Operates equipment having varying degrees of noise and vibration. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Must be insurable. • Must be sighted. • Must be able to hear normal conversation. • Must be able to speak clearly at normal rate of conversation. • Must be able to kneel, squat, stoop, walk and climb stairs. • Must be able to work in wet or dry trenches. • Must be able to move up and down ladders and walk over uneven terrain. • Must be able to lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 pounds and carries for short distances. • Must keep regular and reliable attendance at work.
