Classification and Salary: PROGRAM ASSISTANT I Anticipated Hiring Range: $4495 - $4720/month; $53,940 - $56,640/year Full Salary Range: $4495 - $7190/month; $53,940 - $86,280/year Benefits: We provide a wide range of benefits to our employees. About the Work Unit The Office of the Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (OMMIR) was established in 2022 through Senate Bill 22-150 and exists to serve as a liaison on behalf of the indigenous community on issues related to missing or murdered indigenous relatives. To achieve this goal, the unit conducts the following statewide activities: Develops and enhances partnerships with Tribal Law Enforcement and communities; Collaborates with any relevant entities, including the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs, federally recognized tribes, indigenous-led organizations, tribal and local law enforcement agencies, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Colorado State Patrol; Staffing and support of the Community Volunteer Advisory Board; Provides information to families on how to report a missing or murdered loved one; Collaborates with state and local partners to develop training and education. Helps connect families with resources; Reporting out and responding to questions from the legislature and the general public. The Office of the Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives is statutorily charged with serving as a liaison on behalf of the Indigenous community on issues related to missing or murdered Indigenous relatives, supporting the Advisory Board, and communicating with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation on homicide or missing persons investigations involving Indigenous victims, where appropriate, and providing assistance to families of victims. The office has established a community volunteer advisory board to identify and advise the office on various issues of concern. The office will collaborate with the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs; federally recognized Tribes; state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies; and Indigenous-led organizations.
