The salary range for this position is: $31.52 - $43.02 Hourly $2,521.38 - $3,441.58 Biweekly $5,463.00 - $7,456.76 Monthly This unit exists to oversee the enforcement and compliance efforts of the FAMLI Division. The unit will consist of auditors and investigators ensuring employers are participating in the program as required by law and not engaging in any prohibited activities (such as retaliation or interference) and also investigating fraudulent claims for benefits, auditors reviewing employer records to ensure premiums are properly calculated and other enforcement staff. Auditors will ensure compliance with FAMLI statutes with Colorado employers by obtaining facts and data through the systematic examination of their books and records. The data may be used to verify the correct premium assessment, collecting missing premium reports, and make legal liability determinations concerning payments for services that were not properly classified as covered employment. This position performs external fact-finding audit examinations on Colorado business books and records, independent from direct supervision based on accepted auditing standards, to ensure uniform application, interpretation, administration, and compliance with the FAMLI statutes. H8D3XX Auditor II Minimum Qualifications: Experience Only: Six (6) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position such as tax preparation, payroll reporting and preparation, payroll reconciliation, preparing general ledger and financial statements, bank and check reconciliation. General Auditing experience including preparing audit documentation, preparing audit reports and/or audit findings. Or experience in a field related to this position including Finance or Business Administration. Or Education and Experience: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to six (6) years Current, valid licensure as a CPA from the Colorado Board of Accountancy or current, valid CIA certificate will substitute for five (5) years of the requirement Preferred Qualifications: Professional auditing and/or accounting experience Previous experience in Unemployment Insurance, Workers Compensation , or Compliance Investigations Experience performing similar duties as a State of Colorado classified employee. Required Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong decision-making skills Ability to handle conflict and difficult high stress situations Conflict management skills Excellent Time Management skills Must be able to perform independent research using a variety of websites and statutes Self-Motivated Customer service oriented and ability to work with a diverse population Critical thinking skills Ability to handle diverse and heavy caseloads Ability to analyze applicable statutes for application in diverse situations Conditions of Employment Must be a Colorado resident at time of application.
