The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Human Resources team as a Human Resources Clerk . This position provides technical-level support to departmental personnel and administrative functions. Under general supervision, the role involves collaboration with Central Human Resources on a variety of tasks, including the preparation of new hire paperwork and separation documents, coordination of permanent employee performance evaluations and the step increase process, monitoring of evaluation due dates, assistance with departmental payroll, and the creation of recruitment materials. The position requires strong customer service skills and includes responsibilities related to event planning and coordination. Proficiency in graphic design software for creating marketing materials, social media graphics, and professional presentations is highly preferred and would be a valuable asset in this role. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes: Either A: Three years of clerical experience equivalent to Senior Typist Clerk in a public agency; OR B: Four years of advanced journey worker level clerical experience; OR C: Bachelor's degree in public administration, accounting, or related field. Licenses and Certificates: Certain positions within this classification may require driving. When driving is an essential function of the position, a valid California driver's license will be required at the time of appointment.
