Job Description This position is responsible for taking non-emergency calls via phone or in person for law enforcement assistance. Incumbents review requests, complete incident reports, and maintain daily records and files. Essential Duties Receives non-emergency calls via the phone or in person for law enforcement assistance Compiles necessary information and completes incident report on all requests in compliance with Georgia law Assesses non-emergency calls, determines necessary action, and dispatches requests as necessary Maintains daily records and files of all service requests for tracking purposes Communicates with other departments as needed to request or provide information Testifies in Court Performs other duties of a similar nature or level Other Job Requirements/Information This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing. This job requires fingerprinting. This job is a civilian position in a public safety department with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a public safety background is required which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories and fingerprinting. Grade & Salary The grade for this position is B21(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, AND One year experience in a law enforcement environment Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job Other Job Requirements/Information Must obtain Basic Terminal Operator of GCIC/NCIC certification within one year .
