Mechanic III Minimum: $22.99 per hour Mechanic II Minimum: $20.90 per hour Mechanic I Minimum: $19.00 per hour Salary is just one component of FPUA's excellent total compensation package. The salary range shown represents the minimum to midpoint salary for this position. The actual salary offered will depend on qualifications and experience. Advanced semi-skilled, moderate or advanced technical work in the cathodic protection, construction maintenance and repair of mains and service of the natural gas distribution system. Work of Mechanic I & II performed under the direct supervision of Mechanic III and is checked by observation and conformance to standard practices. Mechanic II performs multi-functional tasks with regards to all phases of the gas operations department; this is not a single task position. Mechanic III may perform lead work requiring immediate responsibility for a small group of employees engaged in semi-skilled or unskilled labor. May be delegated complete authority and responsibility for a designated period of time. Work performed by Mechanic III requires considerable judgment and knowledge and is under supervision of the Gas Distribution Foreman. Note: New employees must be able to successfully complete FPUA’s Operator Qualification Program, as related to the GDM l, II or III position, within their first 12 months of employment . Ability to understand and follow moderately complex written and/or oral instructions. Knowledge of Florida Public Service Commission and other safety standard requirements as they relate to construction and maintenance. Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to labor type work. Ability to prepare reports and keep records. Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees and the public.. S ufficient physical strength to perform heavy, manual-type labor encountered in the work area within the limits of sound safety practices. Mechanic I - Ability to learn and perform a wide variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks. Ability to learn basic residential turn ons, procedures and basic residential appliance repair. Operator Qualifications: Successful completion of FPUA’s Operator Qualification Program as related to General Distribution Mechanic I (GDM I) position. GDM I required Task List is documented in FPUA’s Operator Qualification Program. Completion of the Operator Qualification Program consisting of: Total completion of the Midwest Energy Association (MEA) Operator Qualification Program and testing with a test score of no less than 80% with no missed critical questions. Completion of the MEA Qualified for One - Qualified for All training program testing, with a test score of no less then 80% and hands-on performance review on tasks that directly relate to the GDM I position. Successful performance review by the Operator Qualification Evaluation Team of tasks related to a GDM I position. After initial qualification periodic re-qualification may be needed if significant changes affect covered task or the covered task(s) re-qualify date has expired. Mechanic II - Ability to operate GPS equipment and methods to collect GPS positions. Ability to learn basic residential turn on and procedures and basic residential appliance repair. Operator Qualifications: Successful completion of FPUA’s Operator Qualification Program as related to Gas Distribution Mechanic II (GDM Il) position. GDM Il required Task List is documented in FPUA’s Operator Qualification Program. Completion of the Operator Qualification Program consisting of: Total completion of the Midwest Energy Association (MEA) Operator Qualification Program and testing with a test score of no less than 80% with no missed critical questions. Completion of the MEA Qualified for One-Qualified for All training program testing, with a test score of no less then 80% and hands-on performance review on tasks that directly relate to the GDM Il position. Successful performance review by the Operator Qualification Evaluation Team of tasks related to a GDM Il position. After initial qualification periodic re-qualification may be needed if significant changes affect covered task or the covered task(s) re-qualify date has expired. Mechanic III - Highly skilled in the use of various equipment and hand/power tools related to the work assigned. May be required to visually inspect fusion welds on mains and services. Operator Qualifications: Successful completion of FPUA’s Operator Qualification Program as related to Gas Distribution Mechanic II (GDM Il) position. GDM Il required Task List is documented in FPUA’s Operator Qualification Program.
