This position performs HVAC and Electrical maintenance and repair. The incumbent must possess strong electrical and HVAC skills and be well-versed in electrical safety protocol and permitting process (lockout-tag/arc flash safety procedures). Maintenance and repair of County HVAC/Electrical systems; Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all County HVAC/Electrical systems. Installation of components/systems associated with building renovation projects Observes all approved safety and health policies and procedures pertaining to an employee’s work activities and performs all work tasks in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with County policy. Performs other assigned duties. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is medium work requiring exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The work also requires the ability to crouch, grasp, handle objects, hear, lift, pull, push, reach, and utilize mental acuity. High School Diploma or equivalent; Three (3) years of related work experience; Prior OSHA Safety and electrical safety training preferred Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Driver's License valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Please Note: All County employees may be required to report to serve our customers during emergency conditions. While some will perform their regular duties, others may be assigned to report at a different time and location and to perform different duties from their regular jobs. Employees will either be deemed essential personnel and provide services that must continue regardless of or pursuant to a state of emergency or will be deemed nonessential personnel that will be required to report to work in an emergency if they receive an assignment to shelter duty or other duty.
