Position is responsible for receiving, evaluating, and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for the Department of Public Works (*DPW) and other related Departments.Answers emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and radio requests as required. Re-transmits information received to appropriate personnel or agencies as needed. Maintains all paper and/or computerized records as required by Central Dispatch. Monitors United Water equipment and report problems as directed. Ability to effective communicate orally and in writing. Ability to learn and fluently operate a computer system, radio system and any other related equipment. Ability to read a map and have basic knowledge of City of Indianapolis geography.Work is conducted in an environment that is consistent with Dispatch centers.
