Join us and build a career that changes lives! County Social Services Aide 1 is an entry level position and works closely with caseworkers and other social service aides. You will provide services in the home to families with children after a caseworker has visited and determined which services are needed. This is an excellent opportunity for one-on-one assistance in all areas of family life and communication with families to work toward positive goals and outcomes. As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will learn and be trained to perform the following duties: Parenting Education: Teach parenting skills to help create family routines, trust, and stability Home Skills Training: Provide instruction on proper hygiene, nutrition, cooking and food shopping skills, and maintenance of the home; help families set up and follow a budget Record Keeping: Write a report of each appointment with consumers; attend court and testify, if needed Collaborative Teamwork: Participate in meetings with other staff to develop treatment plans and set goals for consumers Responsive Assistance: Manage multiple tasks, meet strict deadlines, and pay close attention to details under a constantly changing work environment Additional Support: Work may include providing childcare when necessary; assisting consumers with completing applications and forms; transporting consumers to supervised visitation and necessary appointments; and clerical office duties as needed Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Possible after-hours appointments for supervised visitation and transportation. Possible travel requiring overnight stays. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Graduation from high school; or Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
