The Assistant Director of Correctional Industries with the Department of Corrections (DOC) plays a key role in driving high-impact manufacturing and production across statewide shop operations. As an Assistant Director of Correctional Industries, you will perform the following duties: Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations across multiple manufacturing shops and resolve production issues Strategic Planning: Develop long-term and short-term strategies that support industry expansion projects Fiscal and Supply Leadership: Oversee operational budgets, allocate resources, and monitor expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility Policy Administration: Create and evaluate policies that support manufacturing, operations, sales, and business practices Staff Supervision: Provide coaching, performance feedback, and development guidance to the Operations Manager Collaborative Coordination: Work with agencies, institutions, vendors, and customers to meet organizational goals Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Ten years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing or a service-oriented production operation including five years in the management functions of manufacturing or service-oriented production operations; or Five years of experience in a manufacturing or service-oriented production operation and a Master’s degree with major course work in business administration, vocational education, industrial education, industrial engineering, public administration, or a related area. Formal study at a four-year college or university, with major course work in business administration, industrial engineering, industrial education, public administration, vocational education, or related training may be substituted for the manufacturing experience on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years. Additional Requirements: You must be willing to travel to all Pennsylvania Correctional Industries (PCI) shops on a bi-annual basis. You must have 10 years of experience in a manufacturing operation including 5 years in the management functions of manufacturing/floor operations resolving complex issues. You must have 5 years of experience in production scheduling, resource allocation, and warehousing and operations in a manufacturing, operations, or production setting.
