Under the direction of the Director, Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), the Specialist, Faculty Development, supports faculty success through the design, delivery, and coordination of onboarding, training, and development initiatives, with a primary focus on Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) requirements, instructional effectiveness, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Work is cross-functional and diverse. Challenging, high-volume environment requires multitasking skills, the ability to meet deadlines and deal with difficult situations. Receives limited supervision within a broad framework of standard policies and procedures. Faculty Onboarding and FQAS Coordination: Collaborates in the development, delivery, and evaluation of new faculty onboarding and supports faculty through their initial Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) cycle by providing workshops, one-on-one guidance, and resources to ensure completion of required competencies. Tracks and monitors faculty progress and compliance with FQAS requirements from hire through completion, including instructional, administrative, and system expectations, and generates reports to support oversight and ensure timely completion. Faculty Coaching, Observation and Development: Coordinates and conducts classroom observations, monitors peer coaching and instructional skill development, and works directly with faculty to support instructional practices, classroom management, and completion of professional learning plans. Training and Program Development : Designs, develops, and delivers faculty development workshops, training sessions, and institutional learning events (e.g., MATC Day, Team Day, Faculty Professional Learning Days), and contributes to the development of learning academies, communities of practice, and professional development programming. Assessment, Reporting and Continuous Improvement: Evaluates the effectiveness and quality of faculty onboarding and development experiences, collects and analyzes data on faculty progress and engagement, and recommends improvements to programs and processes to enhance faculty success and compliance. Faculty Support and Issue Resolution: Collaborates with the CTE team, Online Learning, HR, and academic leadership to develop training resources, support faculty development needs, and recommend new learning opportunities aligned with emerging trends, technology, and best practices in teaching and learning. Provides guidance and support to faculty on instructional, compliance, and professional development matters, collaborating with supervisors and stakeholders as needed to address concerns and support successful outcomes. Collaborative Teamwork: Establishes, maintains, and enhances positive work relationships with staff, faculty, and administrators. Ethics and Confidentiality : Practices honesty by demonstrating a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles, values, truthfulness and accuracy in all actions. Addresses all student and employee behavior in a confidential and respectful manner. Continuous Learning & Professional Development: Maintains current knowledge of best practices and standards in higher education ADA practices with an emphasis on community Colleges. Actively organizes and/or participates in applicable workgroups, trainings, workshops, seminars, committees and professional associations or conferences to promote continuous learning. Other duties: Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards/requirement, as well as all MATC policies and procedures. Required Education & Experience : A verification of education will be conducted if a candidate is selected for the position. Associate’s degree in education, curriculum, learning and development, or closely related field (e.g. instructional design, organizational leadership, educational technology, design experience, or educational Psychology) and; At least three (3) years of relevant experience Preferred Education & Experience : Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, curriculum, learning and development, or closely related field (e.g. instructional design, organizational leadership, educational technology, design experience, or educational Psychology) and at least one (1) year of relevant experience. .
