This is a National Service position funded through a grant from Georgia Serves (aka Georgia Commission on Service & Volunteerism) and AmeriCorps, the federal agency. Under the direction of the 4-H County Extension Agent, deliver 4-H positive youth development programming directly to youth. This includes: Facilitating/teaching 4-H in-school club meetings; Preparing students for 4-H Project Achievement; Attending 4-H Summer Camp; Designing and implementing community service projects; and Assisting with other 4-H-based programming. Members will assist the 4-H Agent with day-to-day activities involved with providing direct services to youth, such as planning and development of 4-H programming. Some programming may be delivered in a virtual format. Members may provide transportation to youth. Upon successful completion of 900 service hours by August 31, 2027 , AmeriCorps members are eligible to receive A Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $3,697.50 , which can be used to pay educational expenses at eligible post-secondary institutions or repay qualified student loans. The successful candidate must exhibit qualities of independent judgment and a passion for service, as well as the ability to perform the tasks necessary in planning, developing, and directing educational programs directed at youth. Experience working with youth is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required. A valid driver’s license is required. Must be a U.S. citizen with proof of citizenship. Driving, light lifting, occasional work outdoors in adverse climate.
