FALL/WINTER RECREATION POSITIONS All positions open until filled! ** Recruitment Snapshot* * Position: Adult Soccer Official (1 position) Games/Week: 2-4 games/week Days Required: Wednesday evenings (Adult) Wage: $44.00/game Description: The Adult Soccer Official is responsible for officiating adult soccer games in accordance with established rules and league policies. This role ensures fair play, player safety, and a positive game environment for all participants. Officials enforce game rules, manage game flow, make accurate and impartial decisions, and address player or coach concerns in a professional manner. Prior facilitating or playing experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of soccer rules, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to manage competitive situations calmly and confidently are essential. Evening availability is required. Must provide own officiating uniform and equipment. Position: Concession Cashier (Carson Park) (FILLED) Hours/Week: 10-15 hours/week Days Required: Tuesday Evenings, Friday Evenings, Saturdays. Salary: $15.00/hour Application Review Begins August 1 Description: Responsible individuals with cash handling experience and ability to work with people. Previous restaurant and fast-food experience desirable. Concession equipment training will be provided. Must be able to operate a Point of Sale (POS) System. Position: Flag Football Activity Leader (5-6 positions) Hours/Week: 4-6 hours/week Days Required: Tuesday Evenings (August-October) Salary: $15.00/hour Description: Officiate games for 2 nd – 6 th grades and help guide participants to understand the rules of flag football. Must have 1-3 years’ experience playing or coaching football. Must be available August 1-November 1. Position: Ice Center Facility Attendant (Hobbs Ice Arena) (3-4 positions) Hours/Week: up to 30 hours/week Days Required: August-May, flexible scheduling primarily evenings and weekends. Salary: $15.00/hour Application Review Begins August 1 Description: The ideal candidates are responsible adults with a strong work ethic and experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Duties include supervision at open skating sessions, various setup and teardown tasks for varsity hockey games, and custodial duties within the facility. Seasonal based with potential for year-round employment. Skating/hockey experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license and submit proof of insurance. Position: Ice Center Facility Assistant (Hobbs Ice Arena) (1-2 positions) Hours/Week: up to 30 hours/week Days Required: August-May, hours vary depending on facility schedule, primarily evenings and weekends. Salary: $16.50/hour Application Review Begins August 1 Description: The ideal candidate is a mature adult with a strong work ethic and the ability to communicate well with patrons, co-workers, and supervisors. Duties include: ice resurfacing, ice maintenance, building maintenance, monitoring/recording of mechanical equipment, supervision of staff and patrons, and event set-up and tear down. Ice maintenance experience is not necessary. Ice maintenance and resurfacing training will be provided. Seasonal based with potential for year-round employment. Skating/hockey experience preferred but not required. Position: Outdoor Skating Rink Attendant (5-8 positions) Hours/Week: 10-15 hours/week Days Required: Sunday-Saturday (late December-early March) Salary: $15.00/hour Application Review Begins October 15 Description: Responsible individual in charge of supervising safe skating activities at various outdoor rink locations. Duties include: opening shelter, taking attendance, minor first aid duties, and closing the shelter Position: Specialized Recreation Activity Leader (FILLED) Hours/Week: 2.5 hours/week Salary: $16.00/hour Application Review Begins August 1 Description: Applicants must be available to work from September through April, with a scheduled break beginning the second week of December through the end of January. This position assists with the delivery of a weekly evening social and recreation program for adults with disabilities. The program is held on Wednesday evenings and provides participants with opportunities to socialize, build friendships, and engage in a variety of recreational activities. Preferred candidates will have one to two years of experience working with children and/or adults with disabilities. Previous leadership or recreation experience is highly desirable. Responsibilities include planning and leading engaging activities such as arts and crafts, games, snacks, and special events while fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. Staff are expected to provide positive support, effectively manage conflicts, and respond calmly and appropriately to participant's needs. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential. First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications are recommended.
