This determination does not preclude the applicant from applying to other agencies.” Lateral Pay Matrix Experience Starting Pay 2 years $88,671,16 3 years $93,364.50 4 years $98,111.85 5 + years $102,859.19 Patrol Deputy Start Date: January 2027 Essential Duties of a Patrol Deputy: Adhere to policy, procedures, and post orders. Responsible for the protection of life and property; prevention of crimes; apprehension of criminals. Duties include but not limited to, answer calls for service; complete appropriate and required paperwork; testify in court; resolve conflict; complete required training; communicate clearly with citizens and other law enforcement professionals; dispense information to those who need it. Enforce Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations. Patrol assigned area to enforce laws, investigate crimes, and arrest violators. Conduct preliminary investigation at the scene of a crime, administer first aid, and gather evidence. Establish traffic control and Deputy protection at incidents that may attract crowds. Serve civil papers, court documents, and subpoenas. Participate and complete annual law enforcement driving certification. Participate in training (Quarterly Range Qualification, PPCT, Taser, OC Re-Certification). Perform Deputy duties at parades, processions, demonstrations, community activities, and sporting events. Check and report on deficient streetlights, signs, road surfaces and other facilities that serve the public. Perform other duties that are assigned. Shift Schedule Mandatory shift rotation every 4 months 10-hour shifts Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Swing Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM Graveyard Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM Employees are required to rotate to a different shift every four months as part of the mandatory rotation schedule. To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: - Must currently be COLORADO P.O.S.T. Certified. -Must have at least 2 years of patrol experience. -Possess a High School Diploma or GED. -Possess a valid Colorado Drivers' License. IMPORATANT NOTE: The testing process includes: -Completing the written exam through the National Testing Network. - A minimum score of 70% is required in each section (Video, Written, and Reading). -Oral Board Interview. -Physical Fitness Test Battery. A detailed email will be sent to eligible candidates closer to the testing date for Oral board interviews and Physical Testing. Please plan to attend scheduled testing dates as no other dates will be available.
