About the Role The Golf Course Maintenance Technician performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and upkeep of the Town's golf course. This position is responsible for maintaining high-quality playing conditions through mowing, landscaping, turf maintenance, equipment operation, and general grounds maintenance. Employees work as part of a team to ensure the golf course is safe, attractive, and prepared for daily play, tournaments, and special events. Work involves operating specialized turf equipment, performing routine equipment maintenance, and assisting with pesticide applications under the supervision of a licensed employee. Employees work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and are required to work rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as needed. Work is performed under the daily supervision of the Golf Crew Leader and evaluated through observation, quality of work, and adherence to safety standards. • Perform general golf course maintenance, including mowing greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other turf areas • Assist with specialized turf maintenance to promote healthy playing surfaces • Maintain landscaped areas, flower beds, trees, shrubs, and other grounds throughout the golf course • Safely operate specialized golf course maintenance equipment and machinery • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed • Assist with course setup and preparation for tournaments, leagues, and special events • Perform pesticide applications under the guidance and license of a certified employee • Remove trash and debris to maintain a clean and attractive golf course environment • Follow established safety procedures and equipment operating standards • Work rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as required • Perform other related duties as assigned • High School Diploma or GED • Some directly related experience in golf course maintenance, grounds maintenance, landscaping, turf management, or a related field OR • An equivalent combination of education and experience Special Requirements • Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License
