40 Hours | Flexible schedule to meet department needs, to include possible evenings and weekendsThe Manager of the Nursing Skills Laboratories oversees all aspects of the Nursing Laboratory and/or the Simulation Laboratory while providing experiential learning opportunities for Nursing students in the form of skills practice, simulation, competence assessment and remediation. Oversee all aspects of the Nursing Skills laboratories Develop and conduct clinical simulation scenarios utilizing SimMan and other high and low fidelity equipment that meet the needs of the faculty Evaluate Nursing students’ clinical competency through direct observation during open lab hours, simulation scenarios, and recorded skills assessments; provide constructive feedback to support their development and adherence to evidence-based practice Monitor departmental budgetary expenditures for consumable materials for the Nursing department Schedule and coordinate room usage for classes, meetings, scheduled labs, open lab time, clinical make-up, and individual student practice time Orient students and faculty to nursing skills laboratories Guide students through instructor-mandated remediation to ensure achievement of learning objectives. Manage the setup, operation, maintenance, and inventory of all lab equipment and technology Ensure students are oriented to and safely utilize lab equipment and technologies Develop and maintain comprehensive lab guidelines and procedural manuals Participate in departmental meetings and institutional accreditation activities Support the recruitment and orientation of Nursing students, facilitating their transition into the Nursing program Participate in college committees as required/needed Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor Master’s Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution Current Illinois R.N. License CPR Instructor certification by the American Heart Association Nursing work experience in a hospital setting within the past five years Desired Qualifications: Minimum of one (1) year of acute care nursing experience Experience with operating and maintaining Laerdal simulation technologies, equipment, and software Skills and Specifications: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively withindividuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds Demonstrated attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with databases and web searches Excellent organization and coordination abilities, including the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and supervise a variety of lab activities Knowledge of inventory management Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Ability to grow with the technology and philosophical direction implemented by the department and college Ability to work independently, yet have a strong team orientation and to develop productive working relationships at all levels of the organization Commitment and respect for equity, diversity and inclusion Commitment to the College’s mission, vision, values, and goals
