Salary: $7,677 - 9,715 / Month **September 2026 - 3.5 % increase to base pay THE JOB: Under general supervision, conducts investigations to identify deaths that fall under the jurisdiction of the Coroner’s Office and to determine the cause and manner of deaths; determines the identification of the deceased and notifies the next of kin; collects and preserves forensic evidence; collects and reviews medical records; safeguards the personal effects of the decedent; prepares and submits reports on the death investigation to the Forensic Pathologist; works closely with all agencies concerned with the decedents death; and performs other related duties as assigned. THE CURRENT VACANCIES ARE FOR ONE FULL-TIME POSITION AND ONE LIMITED-TERM* POSITION. The list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancy and any future positions county wide during the life of the eligible list. * Limited-Term positions are distinguished from regular permanent and probationary positions because they are established for a specific duration and do not confer Civil Service employee rights beyond the designated employment period. THE REQUIREMENTS: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
