Position Summary: Under general supervision of the Facilities Superintendent, the Facilities Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and repair of assigned County Connection facilities and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds, including building interiors, pedestrian walkways, and vehicle parking areas. Inspect work in progress and on completion to ensure conformance with standard maintenance and repair procedures as well as state, county, and local building codes. Inspect and repair equipment, machinery, and tools to ensure good operating condition. Coordinate ongoing development and refinement of preventative maintenance programs. Order equipment and supplies to support facilities maintenance activities. Investigate complaints concerning the maintenance and repair of facilities. Assist to ensure compliance with all storm water and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent. Four (4) years of increasingly responsible, hands-on experience performing facilities maintenance, including building repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of building systems, equipment, and grounds. Demonstrated knowledge of facilities maintenance practices, methods, tools, materials, and safety procedures, with the ability to independently perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks. Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record or be able to utilize an acceptable alternative method of transportation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Structured training in building trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning) or trade school.
