Apprentice Equipment Operator - Project Team HIRING RANGE: $19.81 - $22.30 per hour About the Position: The Operations and Maintenance Team contributes to a variety of maintenance operations for multiple departments throughout the City. As an Apprentice Equipment Operator, on the Operations and Maintenance Team, you will perform a variety of entry-level duties in the construction, repair, and maintenance of City grounds, parks, cemeteries, golf courses, and various systems, including streets, irrigation, storm drainage, wastewater, and collections. You will work alongside other operators, gaining valuable knowledge and experience in various trades. What You'll Do: Operate a variety of equipment, including dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, forklifts, tractors, grounds keeping equipment, snow removal equipment, power and hand tools, and other specialized maintenance and construction equipment related to the area of assignment. Plant, water, and maintain landscaped areas consisting of turf, bushes, trees, flowers, and shrubs; design, pre-order, and maintain pots, barrels, and other containers. Clean and maintain restrooms and locker rooms. Respond to requests and inquiries from customers and the general public. What We're Looking For: One (1) year of general labor experience. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license. High School Diploma or G.E.D. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Commercial Driver License within 6 months of hire.
