Hourly School Crossing Guards Police Support Services Division / Police Department Job posted until filled Visit www.icgov.org/jobs to apply online Wage: $21.25 per crossing Morning Crossings 7:15am – 8:00am, Monday – Friday Afternoon Crossings 2:50pm – 3:30pm, Monday – Wednesday & Friday 1:50pm – 2:30pm, Thursday Job Summary: The City of Iowa City is seeking individuals to perform part-time regular crossing guard duties and substitute crossing guard duties for morning and afternoon crossings at various Iowa City schools. Conducts self in a manner which promotes and supports diversity and inclusivity in the workplace and community. Wage is $21.25 each time a crossing is worked. The time required for each time period or assignment varies from 45 minutes to 1 hour. A hand-held stop sign and crossing guard safety vest will be provided upon hire. Minimum Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure, Other: Requires genuine concern for the safety and welfare of children, own transportation to all crossing locations, and the ability to work in inclement weather including the ability to work in cold conditions for up to an hour. Applicant must have a phone through which they may be contacted. Must have a solid grasp of fundamental arithmetic and the ability to apply those concepts to common workplace scenarios.
