Impacto Talent is hiring on behalf of a fast-growing North American manufacturer of commercial and industrial LED lighting, sold through a distributor network across the continent. You'll own the photometric design, product specification and technical support on your projects — from concept and calculations through specification, submittal review, mockups and on-site commissioning. This is the senior technical reference for the sales, product and project teams: you'll define the design standards and templates the rest of the team works to, and mentor junior designers as the function grows.WHAT YOU'LL DO Own lighting design end to end: concept, calculations, specification, submittals, mockups and commissioning support Build photometric models and calculations in DIALux evo for interior, façade, landscape and feature lighting Develop luminaire specifications, layouts and schedules — lumen packages, optics and beam distribution, CCT/CRI, dimming protocol, finishes and mounting details Design lighting control strategies (DALI/DALI-2, DMX/RDM, 0–10V, wireless such as Casambi, tunable white and colour-changing) and coordinate with controls suppliers and integrators Apply IES recommended practices, illuminance and uniformity criteria, UGR limits, emergency and egress requirements, and energy codes (ASHRAE 90.1 / IECC / local equivalents) Support sales and specification with product selection, take-offs, value-engineering alternates, competitive cross-references and technical responses to RFPs and tenders Review shop drawings, submittals, photometric files (IES/LDT) and purchase orders for technical accuracy before approval Lead client, architect and engineer meetings — presenting and defending design concepts, calculations and mockups, and resolving technical objections on the spot Set internal design standards, calculation templates and QA checks, review the work of junior designers and external partners, and mentor the team Produce renderings and visual studies (DIALux evo, Relux, Enscape, Photoshop or similar) and maintain photometric libraries and technical documentation Requisitos: WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 5–8 years in lighting design, lighting specification or technical lighting sales support, focused on indoor and/or architectural applications (4 years considered with an exceptional portfolio) A portfolio of delivered projects you personally designed or specified — we'll want to talk through the decisions behind them Degree in architecture, interior design, electrical or lighting engineering, or equivalent technical training and experience DIALux evo required; AGi32 and/or Relux an asset Working knowledge of lighting control systems and protocols: DALI/DALI-2, DMX, 0–10V and wireless (required) Solid understanding of IES recommended practices and energy codes; familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit, BIM family creation an asset Professional accreditation strongly preferred at this level: IES membership, LC, WELL AP, LEED AP or P.Eng. Professional working English required; French and/or Spanish an asset Proven ability to run projects independently and be the final technical word on a design; experience mentoring junior staff is a strong signal Beneficios IN YOUR FIRST YEAR, SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE You're the person the sales and project teams bring the hard applications to Photometric studies, specifications and submittal reviews follow one consistent standard — the one you defined Clients and specifiers ask for you by name on their next project Faster turnaround on design packages and measurably less rework on submittalsWHAT'S ON OFFER Real ownership: you are the senior lighting design authority, not one voice among many Visible architectural projects from concept through commissioning, across an international portfolio A small, senior team where your design input shapes the final result — not a rubber-stamp specification role The chance to build out the lighting design function and, over time, a team Support toward professional accreditation (IES, LC, WELL, LEED), flexible and hybrid arrangements, performance-based bonus, and benefits that vary by country of hire Monday to Friday, no weekends.
