Cloud Engineer (1-Year Contract) Our client is a leading Corporate and Investment Banking organisation with a well-established Information Systems and Technology Centre in Singapore Three Key Technical Skills 1. Cloud Platform Engineering Hands-on administration and support of AWS and/or GCP production environments Infrastructure as Code using Terraform Cloud platform automation, security, governance, and operational support Experience supporting highly available enterprise cloud services 2. Kubernetes & DevOps Platform Engineering Production support and administration of Docker and Kubernetes clusters CI/CD implementation using Jenkins, Git, and Ansible Container orchestration, deployment automation, and platform reliability engineering Monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of containerized workloads 3. Middleware & Production Engineering Hands-on support of enterprise middleware platforms including Kafka, WebSphere, JBoss, WildFly, Tomcat, or Apache Root cause analysis, performance tuning, incident management, and problem management Experience supporting mission-critical production environments with strict availability requirements Working knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes Technical Requirements Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud, container, middleware, or platform engineering environments. Practical experience with AWS, GCP, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes . Hands-on experience in production troubleshooting and performance analysis. Strong scripting capabilities using Python, Bash, Unix Shell, PowerShell, or Java . Experience working within DevOps and Continuous Delivery environments. Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and service management platforms. Knowledge of modern AI architecture concepts including LLM, RAG, Agentic AI, and MCP would be advantageous. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
