ArrowFin is a financial services company specifically focused on the trading world. We create and optimize in-house technological solutions that directly assist our clients with their trading activities on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Key Responsibilities: Engineering Backend Delivery: Design, build, and operate backend services and REST APIs using Java with Spring Boot on the trading platform, and NestJS on analytics and risk services, applying clean/hexagonal architecture. Web & Frontend Delivery: Implement complex, high-frequency trading interfaces and analytics dashboards using React 19 and TypeScript, managing virtualized grids, chart surfaces, and WebSocket lifecycles. Data & Relational Layer: Own relational models and PostgreSQL queries, handling schema design, query plans, indexing, migrations (Flyway/Prisma), and strict multi-tenant query isolation. Real-Time Data Paths: Build and maintain WebSocket and event-driven data flows for market feeds, order events, positions, and risk signals, ensuring system reconciliation after feed drops. Risk & Trading Domain Logic: Build critical financial logic including order entry/brackets, real-time P&L updates, position exposure, margin calls, and automated risk enforcement. Security & Multi-Tenant Compliance: Enforce OAuth 2.0/OIDC authentication, session management, and PII regulatory standards (CFTC/NFA compliance) ensuring strict cross-tenant data isolation. Observability & Testing: Instrument services with metrics, traces, and structured logs (OpenTelemetry/Prometheus/Pino). Write comprehensive unit, integration, and E2E tests. Key Responsibilities: Technical Oversight & Mentorship Code Reviews & Quality: Act as the primary code reviewer for the Medellin team, focusing on system design, safety, and consistency across repositories. Mentorship & Standards: Pair with mid-level engineers in person to grow their technical judgment. Set standards for testing, architecture patterns, and commit conventions. Technical Grooming: Refine product requirements into clear, unambiguous technical plans before execution. Local Escalation: Act as first responder and lead root cause analysis for Colombia-hours staging or production issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner daily with remote engineering leads, DevOps, QA, and Product Management teams Technical Requirements Hands-on experience designing, shipping, and operating scalable backend microservices under real load. Strong PostgreSQL proficiency (reading query plans, indexing, safe migrations, multi-tenant scoping). Proficiency in React (React 19 preferred) and TypeScript, building high-frequency screens without performance degradation. Deep experience with WebSockets, handling connection drops, backpressure, and data reconciliation. Proven record building OAuth 2.0/JWT/OIDC session systems with strong multi-tenant isolation controls. Git, GitHub Actions, Docker, Docker Compose, Jira, and CI/CD maintenance.
