Job Description Summary Responsible for creating, managing and continuously improving our data architecture, pipelines, and data warehouse. Collaborates with data scientists to create and deploy data products that identify insights, predict behavior and prescribe action. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder, data wrangler, who enjoys both building new and optimizing, who is excited about exploring new tools and practices, and enjoys contributing in many ways to a data team with fluid and flexible roles. Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build, maintain and improve the enterprise data warehouse. Monitor & improve performance, implement patches and upgrades, minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses. Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists and software engineers to build, maintain and improve data models. Assists with establishing, maintaining and improving metadata management tools and processes. Build, maintain and improve the infrastructure required for optimal ETL/ELT from a wide variety of data sources. Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture. Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements. Assists with establishing data quality standards and implement processes and tools to assess and improve data accuracy, completeness, reliability, relevance and timeliness. Assists with development and implementation of disaster recovery plans and processes to protect the integrity and availability of enterprise databases and data pipelines. Completes all required training programs to maintain a current knowledge applicable to assigned duties and responsibilities, including regulatory compliance requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Education/Experience To perform this job satisfactorily, an employee must be able to carry out each essential duty competently. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and abilities required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Education Requirements 4 Year / Bachelors Degree - Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Technology or another quantitative field - Required Experience Requirement 2 Years - Responsible experience in a data engineering, database administration, or data science role - Required Experience with the administration and use of relational databases (e.g. Postgres, Oracle, SQLServer) - Required Experience with administration and use of data warehouses (e.g. Redshift, Snowflake, Incorta) - Required Experience with core programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python, C#) and with Linux/Unix commands, scripting (bash) and file management - Required Skills/Abilities Effectively apply internal/external customer service practices and processes to meet quality service standards and achieve member satisfaction. Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g. SSIS) Experience with profiling data, with and without data definition documentation Experience with data modeling, especially dimensional modeling Learn and apply information, on a wide range of Credit Union products, services and regulatory compliance requirements, in order to assess member situations and develop solutions. Communicate in a professional manner and deliver information clearly and effectively. Actively listen to questions, opinions and ideas of others. Use tact and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential situations. Lead and model RISE values and Code of Ethics through daily interactions and conduct. Provide guidance in the resolution of complex problems utilizing advanced knowledge and experience within areas of responsibility. Use correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation. Understand and follow written and oral instructions. Strong analytical aptitude with a driving curiosity to identify, formulate, and solve problems.
