About The Job Join our team at kununu and become a vital part of our dynamic group of professionals. As a Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d), you'll collaborate with fellow experts in the field and work closely with our team of data scientists to drive innovation and data-driven insights. Lead initiatives to extend our data platform capabilities and enable internal teams as well as external partners in their daily work. Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Analysts to deliver scalable and innovative data products. Your Skills Extensive professional experience and strong expertise in Python, software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures, and development best practices. Deep hands-on knowledge of databases, data warehouse solutions, SQL, and ideally dbt. In-depth experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform, and at least one major cloud provider, preferably Google Cloud. A proven track record of successfully delivering ETL or ELT projects at scale. A strong engineering mindset with a focus on automation, testing, maintainability, observability, and production-ready code. The ability to identify technical trade-offs, improve existing systems, and drive pragmatic solutions. Excellent English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
