Join us as a Business Intelligence /Data Analytics Engineer Trainee ! As a Business Intelligence /Data analytics Engineer Trainee you will design, build, and maintain scalable analytics solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to deliver reliable data models, dashboards, and reporting solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making. Key Accountabilities You will primarily be responsible for: Assist in collecting, cleaning, transforming, and validating data from multiple sources. Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and business insights. Develop and evaluate machine learning models for supervised and unsupervised learning tasks. Prepare datasets for statistical analysis and predictive modelling. Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in data engineering, analytics, and data science. Designing and maintaining semantic data models (star/snowflake schemas) optimized for analytics and reporting. Building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple data sources, ensuring data quality and consistency. Ensure data quality, consistency and performance across business intelligence solutions. Developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Python and R. Translating business requirements into robust BI solutions and flexible Power BI semantic models. Optimizing SQL queries, data models and report performance for large-scale datasets, monitoring BI workloads in cloud and on-premises environments. Collaborating with business users to understand KPIs, metrics and reporting needs, and partnering with Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Product teams. Providing guidance and best practices to analysts and report developers. Defining and enforcing data standards, naming conventions and documentation, supporting data lineage and metadata management. Ensuring compliance with security and privacy requirements. Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or related fields. Eligible for an IEFP Level VI Internship. Good programming skills; knowledge of python, C#. Machine learning model development and evaluation. Data wrangling using libraries such as Pandas/Modin, Polars, NumPy. Knowledge of multiple databases such as SQLServer, PostgreSQL, DuckDB. API-based data ingestion. Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Big Query, Redshift, SQL Server). Hands-on with Power BI (semantic models, DAX, DirectQuery) and ETL/ELT tools (SSIS, ADF, Airflow, dbt, SSIS or similar). Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure Foundry (Nice to have). Knowledge of data modelling techniques (Kimball, dimensional modelling). Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into data models and KPIs. Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Organized, able to manage multiple priorities and share knowledge effectively. Fluent in English, with good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
